My Two New Fav's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My new Fav!

Something Good!!!

So, Ive just stumbled upon two great new designers and I think I'm in Love!!!! Have you heard about The Addison Story or Something Else by Natalie Wood??? Both are two that are new to me and quite fabulous, I might add! Let's start with The Addison Story...I first discovered them in Neiman's Spring Catalog when I spied this dress-Love it! Their line to me evokes a vintage quality-very easy, laid back, fun, flirty, and flouncy! And the price point ($60-250) ain't so bad, either. You can find them locally carried at Rue14 and online here and here. You are sure to be pleased! Next up, Something Else! On a recent trip into one of my local fav's Redeem, I scoped all my usual suspects, Funktional, Kai-Aakmann, etc., I spotted, Something Else that quickly caught my attention! Like little pieces of clothing art, Natalie Wood, designer/artist reigns from down-under-Australia and brings her creative talents to the main land! Clothing with an edge is just how I would describe it! Easy to wear tees, tanks, sweaters, and dresses! Definitely worth checking out here! Need a little eye candy convincing??? Here ya go....

It's On and Pop-Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, given the state of our current economic affairs, the retail industry has done some revamping and restructuring! Case and point, I was in recently in the Gap and it was quickly brought to my attention that some items I had purchased were marked, "final sale." Ok. But the sales associate was very clear in letting me know that the black and white tags meant final sale and could not be returned! Whoa! Not a problem, I thought to myself, but clearly the company had to do some rethinking on how to regain financial loss! With that said, I was recently introduced (thanks Jiggy-A) to the Pop-Up Shop! What the heck? Well, fashion designers and retailers have thought of a clever way to make a buck, sell merchandise, and do it fast...The answer...Pop-Up Shops! Forbes magazine featured the concept in their February 08 issue. The concept? Well known designers(Rachel Pally, Earnest Sewn) and retailers wanted to create a cool, small space to showcase items for a limited time. Prices are usually the same and items are current. The catch is the smaller version store will only be around for 1-2 months! So, one must act fast. Pop-Up shops have taken off and become very popular in L.A. and NYC and one recently came to live here in DC! Redeem boutique, located on the oh so happening 14th street corridor recently hosted a Pop-up launch for De*nada knit wear(very cute, hand-crafted knit scarves and gloves) and will be housing the indy label for the next two months and it's defiknitly worth checking out!

Now you see it, now you don't! Act fast or miss out!!!
