Trend alert!!!! Colorful Stripes!!! All you need to know for this S/S 11 is that stripes are the hot pattern to go to! Go for bold, wide, bright colored stripes or keep the pattern simple and muted. Preppy, purposeful, popular...All words that come to mind when I think of the perfect fall wardrobe staple...The Cardigan Sweater!!! I was totally inspired after checking out looks "We're Loving" in the August issue of InStyle! Beyonce is totally rocking an all white look, paired with a gray and black Missoni cardigan(pg. 67)! The boyfriend look continues for fall with preppy, long, lengthy, Cardigans! This men's wear inspired trend is a perfect accent to a summer sleeveless dress or blouse, as the weather begins to take a shift(although, we have had a pretty mild summer, hard to imagine fall coming so soon). Pair your perfect cardigan with a blazer(continues to be big for fall 09) for a layered look or punch up a blousey, tee for another look! Go for a solid look or striped; belted or buttoned. So many options to be had with one of my favorite fall additions!

As the air warms and summer takes shape, shed the layers and add a short to your wardrobe! Shorts are fun and playful, but can also be sexy and chic! Shorts are what's hot for summer '09! If you've got great, Tina Turner legs or even working on getting fab legs, there are many flattering lengths to satisfy any shape! From daisy duke, to paper-bag waist, to French Riviera, floral prints. So many styles, colors, and lengths to pick from....Skies the limit, but keep it simple, especially if you are over 30, like myself! Here are some fun options for all ages, sizes, and shapes!!! Faith21 is the new plus-size line introduced at the beginning of the month. Faith21 offers of the moment trends for a broader size range and the clothes are cute!!!! Love21 is the new contemporary line that puts you in the mind set of J.Crew meets Anthropologie, with lots of spins on high-end designer fashions too! Again, both lines are very much on target with what's hot in fashion(maxi dress, floral prints, tunics, easy tees) and much more! Tee + Bling = TeeBling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Burnt out tees, tissue tees, basic tees...V-neck, scoop neck, crew neck...So many variations all so easy to wear and so easy to dress up or down!!!! I'm a Cali girl, so tee shirts are my favorite staple and I have been noticing fashion has taken on a more laid back, Cali girl approach when it comes to basic items, such as the tee. To dress up a basic tee, try adding a little bling!!!! Big, bauble, bold, necklaces are the perfect way to add a little spice to that plain tee!!!! Jcrew has really embraced this new fashion trend and I'm a huge fan too!!!!! Check out these pairings for inspiration. But check places like American Apparel for all sorts of colors and styles of tees, at a fabulous price.
