Khaki Revamped!!!!! The GAP CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Collection

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) were recently held in NYC and they looked amazing, as did the red carpet ensembles!!! Along with the awards comes the prized Gap designers collection collaboration with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund! Last season it was all about revitalizing the classic White Shirt. This season's inspiration: Khaki! The three finalist are up and coming designers: Alexander Wang At 18, fashion wunderkind Alexander Wang moved to NY to attend Parsons School of Design, and by sophomore year he was already designing his label¿s first collection. Though predominantly pure in aesthetic, the line incorporates elements of street fashion and the imperfect, an aesthetic that won him the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund Award in 2008. Believing that a tee and jeans can be as stylish as a silk dress, Wang launched T Alexander Wang in 2009, a line of slouchy-sexy tees, tanks, and jersey dresses.

Vena Cava Brooklyn-based designers Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai have infused Vena Cava with a quiet elegance that enhances the wearer's own beauty not by shouting but by whispering. Inspired by their own vintage collections and unique personal style, wearing a piece by Vena Cava is much like wearing a special piece handed down from a graceful mother to a sophisticated daughter. Subtle accents enhance each piece with many featuring hand-drawn prints. The Vena Cava woman feels special, unique, and lovely in every way.

Albertus Swanepoel Runner-up of the 2008 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund, designer Albertus Swanepoel creates innovative interpretations of the traditional safari hat.

Each of the designers has meshed part of their design aesthetic with the all-american Gap classic! It's quite a collabo! Check out more details at www.gap.com. But hurry, this collection is sure to fly the nest quickly! I'm loving the safari dress!!!

Live Long and Shop Well!!!!!
