When I think of pearls, I think of playing dress up in my mommy's jewels and pretending to be the belle of the ball! I recall getting my first pearl set: earrings and necklace and I also remember breaking my necklace. Clearly I wasn't ready for the responsibility of pearls. Fast forward...Today, Pearls continue to be a staple in any woman's closet, whether real or faux, pearls always complete the look! This summer, pearls are taking on a whole new look. Not so retro, but still classically, chic! I love the layered look and colored pearls(i.e. black pearls, which my hubby graced me with one birthday) add quite a splash of sophistication to an otherwise, casual look! JCrew has really taken this trend full-force! Looking for a more affordable outlet??? Try Ebay! You are sure to find some great, vintage, affordable pearls there! Just search for pearls or vintage pearl jewelry! I also spied some really cute, non-traditional looks at Anthropologie! Or, go ahead and invest in Tiffany pearl necklace. It is sure to become a family heirloom to be passed on from generation to generation!!! Whatever you do, keep it chic!

Headgear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, when I think about headgear, I think back to my days of being in braces and being ever so grateful that I was never subjected to wearing the dreaded, headgear! Now, for all of you that had to go through such torture, I'm sorry; but I'm sure it was all worth it in the long run and your smile thanks you!

Fast forward to Spring '09 and headgear has taken on a whole, new look! The ladies of Gossip Girl have really brought this accessory trend to the main stage! What a great way to fix an otherwise, awful hair day...throw on a headband! And oh, you have so many styles to chose from...Whether it is the traditional, skinny band or a funky feathered band or take it back to the 80's and rock a hippie headband! Whatever look you may be channeling, you are sure to find something fun and oh so flirty to throw on top of your dome! I'm loving the "big flowered" headbands seen recently on the likes of new style icon, Lauren Conrad of The Hills! You can find a great selection at Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, which is where you can find most of the headgear featured here. And oh, did I mention how cost effective this look is? The headbands range from $10-$38! So, you don't have to break the bank to look great!

Now, if they could only find a way to merge the world of orthodontic headgear and fashion headgear...I might be on to something here... Stay tuned!

Target is on a roll this spring/summer with their Go International Collection! This month Target will be featuring the designs, at a fabulous price point of course, by Tracy Feith(He's dressed our esteemed, First Lady, Michelle Obama) and my interest is definitely peeked!!!! Mr. Feith hails from NYC, and used to have a boutique in my hometown, L.A., on the ever so popular Melrose. Feith's known for his surfer, chic stylings, however don't be turned off by this surfer dude! His collection for Target features interpretations of his current spring/summer collection, which features a hint of Native American motifs and lots of boho chic, floral print dresses and ruffled skirts! Check out the collection in stores beginning May 17th!!! I can't wait! I'm loving the adorable floral print dress and feather print skirt!!!
