Going Dutch!!!!!

Celebrities wearing clog shoes
Celebs are going Dutch!

These days who isn't on a budget, right? Well, if you have a few dollars to spare and are looking for some comfortable, footcandy, try on these perfect little clogs!! When I visited Amsterdam last summer I was on the search for the perfect clog and what better place than the land of wooden shoes--I just knew I would be in luck; much to my surprise, no luck. Since then I have been on the hunt for some wooden, noise makers! I love Sweedish Hasbeens and almost scored a very reasonably priced pair here, but talked myself out of them, since I was soon to head to Amsterdam(bad decision). Oh, well, I got over it and then I saw the No.6 clogs and whew, I was in Clog-Heaven!!! Although, I can't truly justify the splurge right now, especially since Im saving for my fold-over clutch, amongst other things, including new baby accessories, oh priorities...Back to the shoes, when the finances allow, I will be getting a pair of these cute little numbers, which will be so perfect with a Maxi dress or skirt, boyfriend jeans, leggings, whatever you fancy!!  In the meantime, one can oogle and share the knowledge!!! Take a peek...

When In Amsterdam...You Must...

Our final stop of our World Tour Journey left us in the land of wooden shoes and tulips, of which we saw many clogs, but very few tulips, but we did come back with lots of bulbs to be planted!!! We were only there for a day, so we worked in as much as we possibly could. Here's the skinny...

See: Well we didn't see a whole lot because the weather was not the best, but here are a few pics of what we did take in...Lots of beautifully constructed buildings, canals, and a hint of the infamous Red Light District!

Eat: Falafel at Grillroom Falafel Kabab and Frites!!! Hidden secret. Very non-descript, but oh so yummy and cheap!!! Good eats for cheap...Win Win Win!!!!!

Honorable Mention: Guacho's Steakhouse: Steakhouses were very popular in this part of the world. It really reminded me a lot of being in Argentina, home of chimichurri and all things related to the "cow". This place was a yummy, late night treat!! Great drinks, great steaks, very quaint!

Maoz: Home of one good falafel. Can you tell I'm hooked on these things! The husband turned me on and I haven't looked back! Maoz is where it all went down for me in the States and we found one in Amsterdam too!! Didn't try it, because we were busy trying out unfamiliar falafel houses and
s
o glad we did, too!

Shop: Although we didnt get to do any major shopping(a souvenir here and there) I was told and will definitely check out on my trip back, the area to check out is p.c. hooftstraat http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=nl&u=http://www.pchooftstraat.nl/&ei=qQhYTJSLCYP-8AbDtZz1Cg&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBYQ7gEwAA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dp.c.%2Bhooftstraat%2Bamsterdam%26hl%3Den%26prmd%3Dmv
It is home to all the high-end brands and some off the beaten path boutiques too!!

Dwell: The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel. Prime location and very modern, charming hotel! I am so glad that we decided to take a good friend's advice and stay here. We were quite pleased with the service and food. And the bathroom was cute too...I love bathrooms...Go figure!

Been Around The World...Pt.s 1,2, and 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This summer took my family and I on a World Tour(extra special thanks to the Husband for putting it all together) around the globe!!! We traveled to and from 3 continents...literally, with a 21 month-old?????!!!!!!!!! (and he was Fantaburific, by the way). Our journey began here in the states, as we made the trek out to Dulles Airport and if you live in the D.M.V(dc, md., va.) you Know, it is a journey in and of its self! But we made it, just barely! Headed to Paris, France then Cape Town, South Africa, and the last stop Amsterdam, The Netherlands! It was a fabulous affair, filled with lots of adventures(as one could suspect, traveling with a toddler), lots of sights, food, and of course SHOPPING!!! Stay tuned to the next few posts, which will be titled "When In...You must..." With this, I will highlight some of my favorite spots that I would "highly" recommend one to see, eat, shop, dwell, and everything in between! My intention? Well, hopefully, as life takes You on a World Tour, you will have the chance to check out some of the wonderful sights that I did! I too, had lots of tips on "things to see and do", which I will be forever grateful for.

For now, sit tight and get ready for the journey!!!! Au Revoir!!!(still feeling very Parisian) and of course...
