Old Is New Again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vintage clothing is defined as any clothing originally belonging to another era. The 70's is a big one, with its bell-bottomed, high-waisted jeans and floral prints and the 80's are currently getting lot of play with its bold prints and bright colors! Vintage was big for me in undergrad, one reason being its amazing affordability(sometimes, Vintage can also be VERY pricey, depending on the label)! And then there was Ms. Carrie Bradshaw (via styling by Patricia Field) who was the ultimate in vintage styling! And then there is my Jiggy, who can spot a fabulous vintage piece in a heartbeat and turn it into the most fabulous look! If you too are a lover of all things vintage or at least a lover of vintage looking pieces you should check out the following:
Persephone Vintage : This etsy shop features some of the best vintage pieces from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. From classic mini dresses to funky striped blouses. Here are some looks I love...

I just love when I discover a new, creative line of clothing, accessories, and more...It just brings a smile to my face!!! Case and point...EmersonMade This, recently launched line of vintage-like women's wear features some the cutest, basics that I have seen in a while! I love the tweed blazers and flirty blouses. As well as the 70's bell bottoms and cute clutch bags, offset with a blooming, hand-dyed flower! An ode to Carrie Bradshaw, if you will! The handcrafted treats, including hair accessories, make for an ideal bridal party gift!!! The line was recently featured on Daily Candy! To read more about EmersonMade, click here. To me, EmersonMade is a mesh between Jcrew and Anthropologie...Im guessing these were both sources of inspiration!!!

Manoush...Vintage with a Twist

Manoush

Today's featured designer mixes vintage looks with bohemian, ethnic inspired textures...May I introduce...Manoush!!!

Young French label Manoush has an eclectic vintage style that is both sophisticated and cool. The brand's name comes from the French word for gypsy, so it follows that these gorgeous pieces have a whimsical, bohemian edge. Having managed the accessories studio at Morgan, founder Frédérique Trou-Roy took time out to explore Morocco in 2002 and decided to launch her own line. Inspired by the eternally youthful spirit of Jane Birkin and the bohemian style of Vanessa Paradis, choose from pretty printed dresses, ruffle-front blouses and irresistibly cute cropped jackets.

Manoush can be found at Neiman Marcus and various online boutiques: http://www.net-a-porter.com/, http://www.edressme.com/ and http://www.luvcharlie.com/ (one of my new favorites). So if you re looking for something new, with a vintage twist, to spice up your wardrobe for fall, try Manoush! Their styles are sure to please!!!!

It's The Remix!!!!!!!!

Reminiscing is always fun. Thinking of the good times of back in the day! Oshkosh B'gosh, The Stork Shop, London Fog rain coats, Tough Skins, and Jordache Jeans! Well today it's all about the Remix and bringing back the Old to make it New again! And I have set my sights on a few places(some old, some new) to help you recreate the Wonder Years!!!! Let's start with the New...A good friend of mine just put me on to a great website...theRed Room http://www.shopredroom.com/ Let me tell you a little bit about theRed Room. Creator Jan McGill, has come up with the clever idea of mixing designer and vintage clothing and created an online resale boutique based in Baltimore. What a great idea!!! If you are on the hunt for a vintage DVF dress or last seasons Miu Miu pumps, theRed Room is your place and this young lady has an eye for all things fabulous (she is quite Fab herself) and she lived in NYC for a while...Nuff Said! Check it out! Now for the old...Urban Outfitters has brought their reworked vintage creations to their online website. Check out Urban Renewal! I have been lucky enough to find a few cute, reworked dresses and tops, especially at the South Beach Urban location! It's definitely worth checking out @www.urbn.com So now you're ready to get out there and create some old to new trends of your own!!!!!
The "B" Side:
