Out with the Old...In with the New!!!!!

As we get ready to ring in the New Year and toss out old, ill fitting clothes and traditions, to make room for fresh, new beginnings...Get familiar with Mustard Seed boutique and consignment!!! Mustard Seed has been a staple in the Bethesda, Md. area for years and a great place to purge that not so "hot" skirt you've had since 9th grade, that you swear will fit if," I just lose a few pounds"...Or that favorite Gap coat that you swear will come back in style, that has been in your closet for the last...10 years!!! Let it go and earn some cash when you do!!!!
Mustard Seed offers new and vintage looks for affordable prices. In addition, they also have great, inexpensive jewelry!!! But they are best known for consignment and best of all, they pay out on the spot! I have gotten up to $50 bucks!!! The owner, Gail is great! She and her cohorts, have a very selective eye and always greet you with smile!!!!! I always, walk away with a little cash and a cute pair of earrings!!!! But, you should know, as of January 1, you will no longer be able to walk-in with your bags of old clothing, jewelry, and shoes, you will need to schedule an appointment on their website: It's quite convenient and clever and sure to give them more time to pay special attention to your fab finds!!!!!

So ring in the New Year by cleaning out that closet and potentially earning some CASH!!! Cha-Ching!!!!!

Happy 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get Familiar...

With MK2K!!! Looking for comfy, chic, jersey knits and wools? Check out the latest by up and coming designer Michelle Kim, the fab designer behind MK2K clothing. Here's a little info on Ms. Kim:

MK2K designer Michelle Kim describes her line of contemporary knits as “simple and timeless.” Timeless, yes. But simple is in the eye of the beholder: with your own personal touches, you can layer and match these straight-forward cuts into an individual style. The understated detailing has a maturity you wouldn’t expect from a Los Angeles based designer who just started her own line in August ’06.

Here are a few of her pieces that I'm digging!!! For more, check out MK2K can also be found at Cusp, Urban Chic, LeTrainBleu, and Intermix. Prices range from $70-$350. You can find a lot of her things on sale at Madison Los Angeles or Tobi online boutique.

Customer Service is not Dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Tis the season for crazy, erratic, behavior. Whether it be the aggressive driver taking your parking spot or the intensely, long line, while waiting to purchase that one pair of gloves!!! Regardless of the situation, the last thing you need is a rude salesperson to be the icing on your already miserable cake!!!!

No fear...I have found the saving grace! Customer Service at it's best!!!! This is the time of the year where people can lose all sense of kindness(the irony in it being the giving season and all), but low and behold, Bloomingdale's!!!! They have shed a whole new light on the meaning of "Great Customer Service" for me.

Did you know that they will match the price of an item that they carry???? All you have to do is bring in a copy of the match price and its a go!!!! Case and point. I recently purchased an item, by an unfamiliar designer for a little over a $100 bucks. Went home, curious about the designer, and came to find the same item on (get familiar) for $65 bucks!!!!!!!! Whoa!!!! My antenna went up and I said, " I'm taking these back, asappy!!!!" But, I didn't want to brave the cold and outside just yet, so I called, spoke to the very friendly salesperson I had worked with, and he explained the procedure to me and all I would have to do is bring my receipt and the website printout!!! Jackpot!!!! I was like, "Hell Yeah", I can certainly do that!!!!

So, the lesson here...Dynamic Customer Service is alive and thriving during this season of chaos and not so friendly behavior!!!! And it's always great to know that the customer is still #1!!!!!!!

Some other great leaders of Customer Service would include, Nordstrom(they return most anything, without question), Anthropologie(they have a new system of tracking your purchases, so you don't even have to save all those darn receipts) and of course the GAP( gotta love price adjustments within 2 weeks)!!!!

It's Alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meet me at the Opera...

And dont forget your gloves!!!!! Ladies, every woman is in need of a pair of opera length, ladylike gloves (thanks J.P)! My friend has shown me how truly fabulous this look can be and so easy to pull off, especially with the trend of coats and sweaters being cropped sleeves. We gotta keep those arms warm!!!! And why not be ladylike and elegant while doing so? I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair and have had much success with my old faithful, Ebay!!! I searched for vintage leather opera gloves and bingo, Jackpot!!!! And great prices too!!!!

One of this seasons best accessory is all about the arm-length glove. And their are many colors and textures to chose from! I have found some sample looks just for you!

Go ahead, take a chance and the opera would be perfect with that special someone and the perfect accessory to match!!!!!
