When In Cape Town...You Must...

See: Table Mountain The site could easily be considered one of the Wonders of the World! With it's magnificent view of the Atlantic and Indian Ocean and breathtaking aerial view of Cape Town, it is a must See when taking a trip to South Africa! They even have the cutest restaurant for your dining pleasure when you make it to the top!

Robben Island: A historic site. Once home to many political prisoners of South Africa, most notably Nelson Mandela, who would go on to become the first African President of South Africa. It was a hard place to visit, but very inspiring and full of history! A must see!

Honorable Mention: If you are short on time and want to take in all the sights; try the Big Red Bus!!! My hubby and I are lovin' the sightseeing bus tours!!! Fantab! Great views of the city and a little history, all for under 10 bucks!!! Can't beat it!! And you can hop on and off...Whatever your heart desires! We are all about utilizing, these big-little jewels, when visiting major cities!!!

Eat & Drink: South Africa is all about food and wine!!! Seafood and Riesling were at the top of my list, but I soon found out that Poultry and Sauvignon Blanc is where it was at!!!

Blues: Located in the trendy, chic beach area of Camps Bay, this dining spot was all things beachy and yummy! I loved the rustic, beach decor and the open kitchen and the service was impeccable! We give this place two thumbs up! You must try the mussels and a Pinotage(the husband's new fave)...They were all good!!!!!!!

Stellenbosch Wineries: Wine tasting is an absolute must in S.A. We took a day trip to the countryside and visited two wonderful, wineries!!! Great wine and great company! All I have to say is "Cheers."

Shop: Victoria and Alfred Mall. Yes, I know mall? But this is the more than a mall, its a waterfront extravaganza! Fully stocked with all your staples: Zara, Aldo, and souvenir shops and high end too: Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, and more! The Gucci store even dawned a fabulous seaside view, so my husband says, I had to stay away. I was also told by one of the cabbies that there was another fab shopping center worth checking out was located in Century City(didn't make it there, but again the husband saw on the way to Safari and said it was massive in size). It brought to mind my hometown outdoor shopping treatThere's always next time...

Dwell: Westin Grand Cape Town and grand it was, indeed! Great location(walking distance to V & A Waterfront), great rooms(spacious and modern decor), great views(Table Mountain and Waterfront), great service and the breakfast buffet was a Win Win!!! When you go make sure to meet with the most fabulous concierge attendant, Simpewe, to help you map out your plan of action; he was tremendously helpful and you must have the warm apple-cinnamon cider tea, I was addicted to that drink...Yummy-most!!!! I even tried to recreate, but wasn't quite the same.

L
ast but certainly not least, Amsterdam!!!!

Live Long and Travel Well!!!!!!!
